GASMS-Justin Zaman

Country: United Kingdom

Organisation: University College London

My name is Justin Zaman and I trained as a doctor at University College London Medical School. I am a Specialist Registrar [resident] on the training scheme in Cardiology based at Cambridge University Teaching Hospitals. I took a research sabbatical to train in cardiovascular epidemiology, completed an MSc in Epidemiology at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and read for my PhD in the department of Epidemiology and Public Health at University College London with support from the British Heart Foundation. I  looked at ethnic differences in prognosis of coronary disease in three cohorts. My long-term goal is to be involved in research into the global burden of cardiovascular diseases, especially in cost-effective prevention and control and resulting policy implementation in low-middle income countries. I will start as a Walport Clinical Lecturer in Cardiology and Epidemiology at University College London in March 2009.
